Blessing Day

Sunday, March 9th 2014 was my little Ashton's blessing day.  He was blessed and given the name of Ashton Lewis Winn by his Daddy, Marcus Winn.  Those who were in the circle:   My Dad (Lynn Croft), Marcus Dad (John Winn), My Grandpa (F. Lewis Penman).  This his who Ashton was named after. Bishop Colby Warr, and friend of the family, Scott Jensen, Mark Struck and Doug Hansen.  It was a lovely blessing and had me in tears.  Many compliments followed that day.  Marcus gave an incredible blessing.  Those who attended were Suzanne Winn (Marcus Mother), My mother (Leslie Croft), My Grandma (Janet Penman), My sister (Katie Ellis) My Brother in Law (Ben Ellis), Alex (Marcus Brother), and friends of the family, Sondra Mathews, Heather Krey, Erika Gurerro, Collen and Nathan Boyd.  It was a wonderful day followed by a wonderful  dinner in our home.  It sure was wonderful.  There are more photos to come, that my dad took, but these are mine.

Stretch & Grow

We didn't want him to mess up his special little outfit so we put a bib on him.  Too bad I forgot to take it off for pictures.  I am hoping my dad will have some with his full outfit, with him in it.

My mom & I a while back picked out a pattern for my little guy's blessing outfit.  My mom was going to make him a special one out of my wedding dress material.  Making it super, super special.  However, once it was half made we noticed it was not only going to be to big but it seemed too feminine.  We went shopping the day before for a new one but nothing really was what I was looking for.  Luckily Suzann had bought him this cute outfit for church.  It was white & cute & totally worked.  Thank goodness.  This ended up being his outfit.

Smiles & Coos

January 31st 2014 marked the day of my baby's first smile. It was Grandma Leslie that got him to actually do it.  All it took was her sweet smile and sweet voice to ask if he wanted to play with cars and there it was.  At her exclamation of the huge event I ran from the other room thankfully in time to see that sweet smile.  Our cameras caught him at the end of this first smile.  It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen.  He hasn't stopped since and the smiles just keep getting bigger and bigger.  The best smiles on earth are when I go get him in the morning.  I lean over his bed and tell him "Good Morning"  and the sweetest of sweet smiles comes across his face. He then waves his arms and kicks his legs in excitement.  You can tell he is very happy to see his Mommy.  It brings me joy that I just can't describe.
This is what we captured of the first smile.

Grandma Leslie has the Touch

He is for sure my son.  He even has my half moon eyes.

If only I could get the videos to attach, you could hear his sweet coos.

Watching You Sleep

I can't help but stare at my little guy.  He is just the cutest thing in my mind.  From all the wonderful compliments I hear others feel the same way.  : )  I can't get enough even as he sleeps and I find myself taking picture after picture.  So here are a few of my sleeping angel.

You can see his progression in getting bigger with these photos.

I just love his little double chin (Jabba) in this one.

Sucking his thumb just like Mommy did.  Aunt Kimberly even pointed out that he is twirling his hair.  Yes, he is defiantly MY son. : )
